Investigating American and European art markets and cultures of collecting from the Renaissance to the present day, it is taught by staff from the University of Buckingham and Waddesdon Manor with participation from the National Gallery and outside experts.

People are fundamental to service delivery. In this module we look deeper into the fundamental role of people in service delivery and closing Gap 3 (The Performance Gap). We will cover aspects of service delivery including: the critical importance of service employees, understanding employee motivation, developing a service culture, exhibiting service leadership and situational leadership, strategies for delivering service quality through people and the specific challenges of managing frontline employees.

Welcome to the Understanding Consumer Behaviour module. Understanding Consumer Behaviour is a 15-unit module which will run in the Spring Term of your postgraduate studies. This is a strategic module for the subject of consumer behaviour. It covers the various aspects of consumer behaviour, concepts, and theories for consumer psychology at the higher levels in marketing. This document is intended to act as a guide for you. It sets out the topics we will be covering over the term and gives details of what is expected of you in terms of attendance and preparation for the seminars. The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the role of Financial Accounting in the context of business. This course shows:

(1) "how accountants attempt to keep score", that is, report on the success of the business in terms of profitability ("the Profit and Loss Account"):

(2) how to create a statement of assets and claims at a particular point in time ("the Balance Sheet"):

(3) how the business has spent the money it has collected ("the Cash Flow Statement").

The module also aims to enable students to interpret financial statements in order to properly understand the financial position of a business and recognise the limits of the understanding they deliver.

After taking this module, students should be able to:

(1). Explain and analyse the role of financial accounting information in managing a business.

(2). Define and apply accounting concepts that are used in preparing financial statements ("the Profit and Loss Account", "the Balance Sheet" and "the Cash Flow Statement")

(3). Prepare, interpret and analyse such statements, and be aware of their limitations.

(4). Demonstrate understanding of the fundamental concepts of financial accounting and the relationship between financial accounting and business activities.

Students will develop an understanding of the theoretical frameworks presented in the area of Business Strategy and develop the ability to analyse strategic issues within growing organisations.

They will also gain an understanding of the strategy formulation process, the challenges faced and understand the problems of managing strategic change in growing organisations.

This module looks at the way in which businesses succeed as a result of providing elevated levels of customer loyalty in a service business environment. You will also discover that manufacturers and product-based companies also succeed as a result of services they provide. This module uses examples and case studies to demonstrate that the provision of service is fundamental to the profitability of every business.

This module has been designed to equip students with both an understanding of entrepreneurship and give experience of the entrepreneurial process.

During the module students will learn about the process of creating / adding value for other organisations or individuals. Students will explore value creation through new services, products or processes, while developing perspectives, and the skills related to idea generation, validation and business modelling.

The module will also help students shape their interpersonal and collaborative working skills as they deliver elements of the assessed work.

This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the nature of management accounting, its fundamental concepts and principles and its role in organisational planning, control and decision-making.

After taking this module, students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate understanding of the principles of cost analysis and analyse their relevance for planning and decision making.

2. Explain the principles and problems of product costing.

3. Communicate the principles of capital budgeting and evaluate the main financial appraisal techniques employed in this area.

4. Recognise the control function of accounting, especially working capital management and budgeting.

This is an introductory module on the subject of marketing. It covers the fundamental marketing principles, concepts, and theories that students need to understand as a foundation for further marketing modules. The module includes the marketing environment, the marketing mix, basic aspects of buyer behaviour, market segmentation, and methods of gathering information for making marketing decisions.

This module aims to give you an introduction to Latin America as a region with specific political characteristics and to help you develop the skills to identify forces that have shaped Latin American political development in general and of specific countries in particular. In-depth study of the region is also intended to sharpen your understanding, in a comparative way, of the economic, political and cultural factors that have shaped your own countries and regions.
