The aim of this module, run in collaboration with BARBRI, is not just to prepare you to sit SQE1, but to give you agency over your journey to becoming a Solicitor by helping you develop a clear understanding of the required professional standards and competences required of a Solicitor. These competences are tested at SQE1, SQE2, and you will want to make sure you develop these skills as much as possible during your Qualifying Work Experience. This module therefore guides you through weekly self-reflection on your professional development, helping you prepare for both the SQE, and your careers.

This module runs over 3 terms, with instruction being made up of three strands:

1. BARBRI's SQE1 preparation course: requires an estimated 360 hours of study between now and the end of the Autumn Term. You will complete this independently via BARBRI's online platform. Please contact the BARBRI helpdesk for questions about content (ie. questions about lectures, question sets etc). Please also speak to your Buckingham learning coach with any issues with the platform.

2. In-person UOB Group Workshops: We will have a total of 12 workshops spread across 3 terms. Please check this Moodle page for regular updates regarding dates and details. Workshops are 2 hours long.

3. Weekly Individual Learning Coach Sessions: You are required to meet with your allocated Learning Coach on a weekly basis during term time for an individual coaching session, discussing your progress with BARBRI's course, and your professional development more broadly. Each session is 30-minutes.
