We are delighted to have you as part of this year’s cohort. As you will be aware, our PGCE is school based: trainees on the scheme are employed by their schools during the year they take the course. They are supported within their schools by a designated mentor, under the direction of the University Of Buckingham Faculty Of Education. Trainees are assigned a tutor by the University, who oversees their progress and who visits trainees in their schools once a term. During the year, UK based trainees have the equivalent of nine days of compulsory training; the first part of which is an induction morning online in late August. The remaining days take place on Thursdays throughout the year.
